Faith Discussion Series

Each semester, Donnelly hosts a Faith Discussion Series on Tuesday evenings. Sign-up is required. This series is free and open to anyone with any faith background. The upcoming summer series will be led by Donnelly Professor of Philosophy Matt Wilde.

Join us as we explore St. John Paul II's Theology of the Body. This discussion is a Christian understanding of the human person (Genesis 1:28). In this series, we will discover what it means to be made in God’s image and what living that image looks like in our relationships with God and with others. This free series will be divided into seven sessions:

  • May 21: Introduction to and key concepts for Theology of the Body
  • May 28: "In the Beginning it was not so" | Who We Were (and still are!) Made to Be
  • June 18: "You Have Heard it Said... But I Say..." | The Reality of Sin and Christ's Call to the Human Heart
  • June 25: "They Neither Marry nor are Given in Marriage" | The Resurrection of the Body and its Earthly Witnesses
  • July 9: "This is a Great Mystery" | Marriage as Sacrament of Christ and His Church
  • July 23: "A Garden Enclosed, a Fountain sealed" | The Language of the Body
  • August 6: "He Gave Them the Law of Life as their Inheritance" | The "Why" of the Church's Teaching on Sexuality—Reverence
